Humphrey, Owten arrive at Berklee

Posted: Tuesday, July 10, 2012 8:19 am

Reginald Ellis, former music teacher at Clarksdale High School, accompanied student guitarist Cameron Humphrey and drummer Tyvaurus Owten on their journey to Berklee College of Music, in Boston, over the weekend. Humphrey and Owten won full scholarships to Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program from an audition at Clarksdale High in April. For the past five years, a team from Berklee has visited Mississippi to audition students for summer scholarships. Clarksdale's Travis Calvin, PJ Walker, and Paula Thompson have previously won Berklee summer scholarships.
