To Ghost Rider...thats a heartless thing to say. Many people lost home ,cars, and more as a result of Campbell not paying. Campbell was our employer. We were her employees, we provided a service which makes her obligated to pay us. I don't know what lazy nurse...you spoke of. I was employed there from March until July...I never saw a lazy nurse. I was employed as a nurse. The fact that hospices are facing problems is not the employees problem we hold no interest in ownership. That is a management problem. Instead of being deceitful and misleading staff she should have laid the staff off or terminated their employment.

Even though rumors exist many employees will not confide in a new person for fear of losing their jobs; especially if they are being paid a lot more than the other hospices. Not to mention the CIA-Gestopo environment. I had only one employee tell me the truth and I did not believe them until I found myself in court with Vanella Campbell and all her highly paid educated professional cohorts refused to testify in my behalf. To my dismay I ended up in court again to testify in behalf of several others she had deliberately refused to pay. She thought it was a joke that these lowly aides thought they deserved to be paid.I wonder how many lazy nurses she hired and refused to pay? I think they would take exception to being labeled lazy. There's already legislation against lying, cheating and stealing from employees, not to mention running a hospice with only an LPN license.

who is this Vanella Campbell? this woman sounds heartless and cruel. who will hire people and not pay them? The people need to stop being so stupid. how can you work for someone and not receive a pay check. the first day i started to work for her i would have quit when i found out that the other employees had not being paid. this lady needs to be taken to civil court AND her license needs to be revolked. She is an evil person for doing something like this. Her practice is not going to prosper no matter where she move it too.

First, everyone needs to follow what's going on in the hospice industry. Then, you would realize that 75% of hospice are experiencing severe financial difficulties. In fact, there is legislation introduced in Congress to repair the srew up. I doubt very seriously if a complaint to the DOL caused this business to file Chp. 11. There are a number of hospices that filed Chp. 11 in the MS Delta and around the State. I understand that former employess may be a little angry because of back pay, but to think this lady kept their money is a little ridiculous. In fact, Memorial was the highest paid hospie in the Delta for years. Why kick a person when he or she is down? This lady may have been a hard boss, but she is fair and demanded that those lazy nurses do what was right. I know because I'm a former employee, and she got on me too.

And who has the audacity to not pay their employees, yet still walk around like you are ABOVE GOD?? WHO?? Vanella does. She has no shame and she will one day get her payback.

Yes, I am sorry to learn of this. I am from out of town but used Memorial Hospice for my Mother a little over a year ago. She received excellent service from some of the most compasionate people I have ever met. Memorial Hospice was a very good facility and I even recommended it to others. It was one of the good points left about Clarksdale. I hate to learn of these of problems and wish the employees the best of luck in recovering their back pay. I know it is hard work and takes special people to do it-- they deserve every penny they are owed.

The attorney general and labor board has been notified. The Chapter 11 bankruptcy protects her and she is not liable for payin ANYONE. Her company is considered a non-viable comapny. That means to the remiander of people left there whenever she gets tired of issuing them scraps she can stop. That may be reason a bankruptcy was filed a day after I called labor board. Coincidental? I think not.

Thanks for the comments and support. This is employee abuse, basically modern day slavery. I am just a strong person and willing to fight for what I believe is right. I felt like Vanella Campbell needed to be exposed. Many people are told that this is a rumor, but it is the truth. We are in a global recession and many of her employees have lost their homes, car, utilities, and most of all their dignity and self respect. I would have never worked for anyone for free willingly. I miss my patients, but never will I return to Memorial Hospice again.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!! When I first started @ Memorial Hospice my first week there pay day was coming around the ones that were getting paid was told that they might not have a check when pay day rolled around that made a flag come up how can you hire someone and can't pay the ones that you already have. The employees was told to write the President about their pay basically because they were told that things were being cut and for some reason that's why they were not getting paid like they should have.

I wonder how will this baby be raised since she is being raised in this environment. I hope someone thinks of Henrietta. This may be traumatizing to her.

I was also a previous employee of Ms Campbell and I heard from a reliable source that her intentions was to work the hell out of me and not pay me. I worked from July 31, Aug 2, 3, 4 and I resigned. I commuted from Cleveland and I went out on visits to see patients and it is now September and I still have not received my pay.

It is true people reap what they sow. Vanilla Campbell has been sowing bad seed toward a lot of people for a long time and treating employees like trash. Everyone must adhere to her lies and support everything she says or does no matter how ruthless and psychotic. I'm not quite sure how she manages to maintain even an air of composure from one minute to the next with anyone. She failed to realize that not everyone is cunning and deceitful no matter how much she's willing to pay them while others are more than willing to sacrifice dignity, respect and any moral compass for the glory of Vanilla Campbell. There is a God and we must all pay for what we do to others.

I think that Ms. Campbell employee's should get paid for their services. I don't think that she is a good person to work for.
