DBP money will help city, county to demolish burned, abandoned homes

Posted: Tuesday, February 7, 2012 10:08 am

The county and city are in the process of tearing down hundreds of dangerous, dilapidated buildings, including homes burned in a string of arson attacks last year. Both the city and the county were granted $150,000 in October from the Delta Bridge Project to pay for a cleanup that city officials hope will help lure investors and home buyers to the city.

Of the total grant, the city gets $100,000 of that and the county will get the rest.
