DBP is preparing for its first round of grant proposals

Posted: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 11:18 am

On Feb. 1, the Delta Bridge Project’s steering committee will get its first round of proposals for 2012.  Based on the success of the Phillips County Delta Bridge Project in Helena, AR the Coahoma County Delta Bridge expects to invest millions of leveraged dollars on local improvement projects over the next 10 years.

“Southern Bancorp is not Santa Claus, so projects will not be considered for funding unless they have measureable economic impact, are sustainable and the applicant has some skin in the game as well,” stated DBP director Lois Erwin.  “Also, if a project or concept is not in the strategic plan that the community worked on for the past year, it will not be considered for funding.”
