Posted: Thursday, April 18, 2013 8:02 am

Clarksdale police arrested a woman last week and charged her with embezzlement after she allegedly stole up to $1,000 from the city over a three-month period.

Jerandrea Ross, 26, was an employee with JCS, Judicial Collection Services, a private company that collects municipal fines for Clarksdale. Each week that company hands over a check to the city, and Deputy Court Clerk John King said usually the city can expect anywhere from $1,300 to $1,900 per week.
