An accident occurred in downtown Clarksdale on the corner of East Second Street and Delta Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Members of the Clarksdale Police Department and Pafford Emergency Medical Services were at the scene.
Clarksdale and Coahoma Early College high schools will play one another for the first time in the history of the two local schools Friday night.
The matchup is set for 7 p.m. at Coahoma Community College.
Both teams played in jamboree games at CCC last week and won.

Millsaps College senior D.J. Hawkins has been awarded a Fulbright grant to teach and study in Russia as an English Teaching Assistant.
A biochemistry major from Clarksdale, Hawkins plans to pursue a career as a gastroenterologist. He is the 16th Millsaps student to be awarded a Fulbright grant.
