This is the start of the Back to School shopping season and Tax-Free Weekend is Friday and Saturday. It is the weekend when people traditionally shop for their kids and spend a little extra money on a night out or weekend get-together before school starts.

With much fanfare and the cameras rolling, Clarksdale signed on the dotted line for a $7.4 million check to pay for infrastructure projects Monday.
The Mayor and Board of Commissioners will now allocated the money to begin construction on five and possibly six big street, drainage and flooding projects around the city.
Something was missing from Clarksdale this Spring.
Tourist from all over this great nation and the world were not walking our streets, in our restaurants and joints, shopping in our stores and sleeping in our hotels, motels and bed-and-breakfast inns.
And we missed them.

Chamber bestows 2019 Small Business Award on Roger Stolle
Roger Stolle came to Clarksdale in 2002 with a mission to promote the blues from within.
In order to complete his mission, Stolle had to have an office and he used that office as a Mississippi blues store to lure people to Clarksdale.
