CECHS Tigers fall to Ruleville

The Coahoma Early College high School boys and girls have shown bright spots this season but remain winless in district play after home losses to Ruleville Tuesday night.
The Tigers (0-6, 0-4) lost 62-40, while the Lady Tigers (1-5, 0-4) lost 54-23.

The Lady Tigers (1-4, 0-3) lost 28-23 to Winona Friday night in a district matchup, while the Tigers (0-5, 0-3) lost 58-37.

The Clarksdale High School boys and girls basketball teams earned dominant road victories against local rival Coahoma Early College High School in the Pinnacle Tuesday night to improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 28-0 lead en route to a 48-17 victory won while the Lady Wildcats won 46-21.

Daniels a focal point in first year at CCHS

JONESTOWN — Jermell Daniels, a senior wing and guard, played his first three years of high school basketball at Coahoma Early College High School, but then the format changed.
CECHS changed to a true early college format where students must apply to enroll. That came as a result of college courses being a part of the curriculum.

On many different occasions, I have said it is a good thing we do not have a power rating system to determine the playoff teams in Mississippi. Only division matchups count toward the playoff standings.

CECHS tells start of school plans, policy

The plan is Coahoma Early College High School students to attend school in person twice a week and have online learning every Monday for the 2020-21 school year.

CECHS principal Cloretha Jamison outlined the hybrid model she will use in response to the coronavirus pandemic during the Coahoma Community College and CECHS board meeting Monday morning.
