I love rain, to a point. I love how it cascades in rivulets from my back deck’s corrugated tin top, how it refreshes the birds’ baths.

And overall it’s a good thing. Makes our trees grow so well, saving us from having to decide between a cactus-filled xeriscape landscape or dragging hoses to keep thirstier plants alive.

Ground Zero's Thanksgiving Eve Blues Party raises money for Sunflower River Fest

A spectacular lineup of blues superstars including Anthony “Big A” Sherrod, “Big T” Williams, Lucious Spiller and James “Super Chikan” Johnson has been booked for the annual Thanksgiving Eve Blues Party at Ground Zero.

The event takes place Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.







Ten girls to compete in AKA sorority's Fashionetta 2018

Ten girls will be competing in “An Evening of Enchanted Elegance” at the Fashionetta 2018 this Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018.

The event, which will be held at 6 p.m. at The Pinnacle on the Coahoma Community College campus, is the biannual fundraiser of the Iota Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
