Six area schools on break an extra week

Coahoma Early College High School announced Sunday afternoon it would extend its spring break at least an extra week in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

CECHS is the sixth school system to announce it would be returning to school March 23.

The Clarksdale Municipal School District, Lee Academy, Clarksdale Collegiate Public Charter School, St. Elizabeth Catholic School and Coahoma Community College had announced earlier that they would also be out of school an extra week. The regularly scheduled spring break took place this past week.

The Coahoma County School District extended its spring break one day. The CCSD is out of school Monday and expected to return Tuesday.
