The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car fire Sunday and their investigation indicates it may have started with someone shooting fireworks from the vehicle.
Deputies and firefighters responded to 1035 Union Street in Tunica and found a gray Dodge Grand Caravan fully engulfed in flames.
It took more than 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze and the vehicle was described as a total loss.
The fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office fire investigation and at this time the incident is not believed to be arson, but rather the result of irresponsible use of fireworks.
Tunica County Sheriff K.C. Hamp, Sr. is asking parents to monitor their children and explain the dangers of firework to prevent injuries or loss of property. Parents can be held responsible for any damages caused by their children.
