Tunica sheriff seeks info in shooting of juvenile

Authorities in the region are seeking information on the shooting of a juvenile in Tunica County and are asking for the community's help.

Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 1:03 a.m. Monday stating shots had been fired at 1125 Prichard Road in Tunica and one person as hurt.

Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene at the same time and deputies located one subject with gunshot wounds. The subject was treated by Pafford EMT's on scene and quickly transported by air to Region One Medical Center in Memphis.

The subject was identified as a black female juvenile and other information about her identity was being withheld by authorities due to her age.

The Tunica County Sheriff's Department also did not release the extent of her injuries.

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office has detained one person of interest who is being questioned at this time, but that person has not identified as this is an ongoing investigation.
