Joyce Holloway Simpson, 86, a Clarksdale resident and music teacher since 1958, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Oxford Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Simpson accompanied her husband for 65 years in his ministry of music. She also was a member of the Wind Assemble and member and organist at Riverside Baptist Church.








Clarksdale Public Utilities agrees to $500 sponsorship for 'A Taste of Clarksdale'

The Clarksdale Public Utilities board approved a $500 sponsorship for Coahoma Opportunities Inc.’s “A Taste of Clarksdale.”

“A Taste of Clarksdale” will be held to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the Clarksdale Civic Auditorium, where people will be able to purchase tickets and get food at different stations.






H.D. King, Jr.

H.D. King, Jr., 92, who was retired from Wonder Bread, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at his home in Clarksdale.

Mr. King was a Mason and an avid gardener.
