Friars Point may start Habitat For Humanity chapter

FRIARS POINT — Dorothy Jenkins, president of the Farrell-Sherard Habitat for Humanity, spoke to the Friars Point City Council during its Wednesday, Jan. 2 meeting about possibly getting a chapter in the community.

Jenkins said the Habitat for Humanity chapter has been around since 1994, but things have changed.

Eva L. Jones, 64, of 16th Street in Clarksdale, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at her home.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at noon at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Lyon with the Rev. Marvin K. Myles officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Clarksdale.
