Delta Council, Corps of Engineers to host meeting on Arkabutla Dam on Wednesday

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at the Marks Community Center located at 300 Pecan Street, Marks, MS (across the street from the courthouse) to discuss plans for the analysis and repairs of Arkabutla Dam and the effect it will have downstream on the Coldwater River.

142 More Mississippi Congregations Disaffiliate from United Methodist Church

On Saturday, the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church approved the disaffiliation of 142 congregations.

Among the churches departing is Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson, the largest Methodist congregation in the state. Its members voted 717-112 to leave in October.

Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Awards $28.4M for Housing - $2,050,000 in Mississippi

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) is pleased to announce that it has awarded $28.4 million in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) subsidies to 43 projects in its five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. The subsidies will result in the creation or rehabilitation of 2,677 housing units.
