A gunfight Thursday night in an apartment complex in Clarksdale sent two men to the hospital with gunshot wounds and police are seeking information about the incident and if others were involved.
Police were called to Bennie S. Gooden Estates after they got a call at 8:11 p.m. of a shooting that had taken place between Building 3 and Building 5 at the complex off of Washington Street.
Officer arriving on the scene were told two men had been taken to the Emergency Room of Delta Health Clarksdale.
Officers and investigators found multiple shell casings in the area and began their investigation.
Police went to the emergency room and were told the two men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and had been transported to the Merit Health Trauma Center in Memphis.
Police reports said both subjects were involved in an altercation and guns were pulled on each other.
Police did not give the names of those involved in the shooting, motive or if any other people were involved or endangered by the shooting.
The case has been listed as an aggravated assault and it was assigned to Investigator G. Johnson.

All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.
Aggravated assault is defined as injury or threat to a person to make them fear for their life. It is punishable by up to 20-years in prison and a $10,000 fine. An adult who assaults a juvenile can find the penalty enhanced to 30-years in prison.
Aggravated assault is a felony and shooting into a home can also be deemed a felony if prosecutors and judges wish to pursue it.
Firing shots inside the city limits of Clarksdale is a misdemeanor but can be enhanced to a felony if the person shooting has a previous conviction for certain crime or the shots were premeditated with intent to cause hate, harm or fear.
