Clarksdale Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital over the Labor Day weekend and they are asking the community for information on this incident in central Clarksdale.
Police were called to the 500 block of West Second Street at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 in reference to a man who had been shot.
It is believed the incident began on a nearby street and ended with the victim running to a house on West Second where he collapsed.
Police reports said officers found a black male subject lying on beside a vehicle in a driveway just off West Second and the subject had been shot.
Officers spoke with several subjects that were in the area and collected information and evidence about the shooting.
Police were able to speak with the victim who said he was walking home and a vehicle drove by shooting and he was shot in the left upper leg area.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition and later released.
The Clarksdale Police Department is continuing their investigation at this time.

Aggravated assault is defined as injury or threat to a person to make them fear for their life or assault with a weapon. It is punishable by up to 20-years in prison and a $10,000 fine. An adult who assaults a juvenile can find the penalty enhanced to 30-years in prison.
Aggravated assault is a felony and shooting into a home can also be deemed a felony if prosecutors and judges wish to pursue it.
