Clarksdale High School classmates Elgton Jenkins and Juantavius “JT” Gray are now even in their matchups against one another in the NFL.
The Saints defeated the Packers 38-3 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Saints are 1-0 on the season and the Packers are 0-1.
Jenkins is a Pro Bowl left guard for the Packers and Gray is a strong safety and special teams standout for the Saints. Gray was recently named a team captain. Gray and Jenkins are 2014 Clarksdale High School graduates and were roommates and teammates at Mississippi State.
Jenkins is in his third season in the NFL and Gray is in his fourth season.
The Packers won 37-30 at New Orleans in 2020 in the first matchup between the “Battle of the Wildcats.”
Both matchups between Gray and Jenkins came during the regular season.
