The Griot Arts Annual Fall Feast raised as of Thursday night $46,529 with additional donations from the not included in the final number. Representatives thanked the community for continuous support of the work along with new sponors for their efforts. The fall feast was outside of Meraki Roasting Company on Sunflower Avenue. Local dignitaries present included Clarksdale Mayor Chuck Espy, police chief Sandra Williams, Clarksdale Municipal School District Superintendent Dr. Earl Joe Nelson and others.
Chefs that donated their time for the event were from Big River Bagels, Blue Cotton Bakery, Hooker Grocery, Two Brooks, The Ranch, Coahoma Community College’s culinary program, Levon's, Sweet Magnolia, Sweet Tooth Teddy, Rest Haven, Abe's BBQ, Fan & Johnny's, Hopson Commissary and Phat Daddy'z Food Truck.
