Police investigators recently used a variety of sources and incidents that had been reported to them to arrest a local man believed to be involved with the burglary of a home and car and the theft and illegal use of a credit card.
The Clarksdale police arrested Danyelle Robinson, 40, at a local department store about noon Wednesday, Oct. 9. Robinson was charged with residential burglary, auto burglary and credit card fraud and police say additional charges are expected.
Robinson’s arrest stems from a complaint filed in September on an auto burglary in the 100 block of West Second Street. The homeowners reported their vehicle was burglarized and numerous credit cards were stolen.
Investigators discovered that Robinson made several purchases with the stolen credit cards at several businesses in Clarksdale.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the complainant called Clarksdale Police and reported his home was burglarized while he slept. The owner reported several computers and additional credit cards were stolen. The burglary was captured on video surveillance.
After a thorough investigation, police were able to determine that Robinson was responsible for the auto and residential burglaries. Police said when Robinson was taken into custody he was attempting to use a credit card stolen from the residential burglary.
Police said investigators then executed a search warrant at Robinson’s residence and additional credit cards belonging to the victim were found in Robinson’s apartment.
Robinson was placed in the Coahoma County Jail, pending an initial appearance in Clarksdale Municipal Court. Robinson is currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
