Compliance and financial issues highlighted a Clarksdale Public Utilities meeting lasting just more than 10 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
Board chair James Hicks discussed the items on the general manager’s report.
Industrial electric rate changes, as recommended by Jeff Atwell, were the first item on the agenda.
Hicks said CPU general manager Curtis Boschert, who could not attend the meeting, asked the item to be carried over to the next meeting. A final version of the changes have not been provided.
“I talked to him this morning,” Hicks said. “He said he’s got some more work he wants to do on that. He asked me to recommend carrying it over to the next meeting.”
The next item was a North American Electric Reliability Corporation compliance quarterly update provided just for information.
Hicks said CPU was in compliance with the NERC reliability standards.
Ellis & Hirsberg CPA's PLLC provided an independent accountants’ compilation report of the North Delta Joint Municipal Water Management District Inc. The CPU board acknowledged receiving the report with a vote.
Watkins, Ward and Stafford, PLLC, provided three 2020 engagement letters making sure the CPU audit numbers were correct.
“They went through and looked at all the numbers to make sure the audit was right and wanted us to sign off on it,” Hicks said.
The board voted authorizing Hicks and Boschert to sign the letters.
