Two 2014 Clarksdale High School graduates will be playing at home in the NFC Divisional Playoff round this weekend and are two games away from the Super Bowl.
Elgton Jenkins is a Pro Bowl left guard for the Green Bay Packers. Juantavius “JT” Gray is a safety and special teams standout for the New Orleans Saints. The two played college football together at Mississippi State.
If both the Packers and Saints win this weekend, they will play one another in the NFC Championship in Green Bay. It would be the second time Jenkins and Gray went against one another this season.
Coming off of a bye week in the wildcard round, Jenkins and the No. 1 Packers (13-3) will host the No. 6 Los Angeles Rams (10-6) at 3:35 p.m. Saturday on Fox.
The Rams went on the road to defeat the No. 3 Seattle Seahawks (12-4) 30-20 in the wildcard round.
A win for the Packers would put them at home in the NFC Championship. A win for the Rams would put them on the road in the NFC Championship.
Coming off of a 21-9 win against the No. 7 Chicago Bears (8-8) in the wildcard round, Gray and the No. 2 Saints (12-4) will host the No. 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) at 5:40 p.m. Sunday on Fox.
The Buccaneers went on the road to defeat the No. 4 Washington Football Team (7-9) in the wildcard round 31-23.
The winner between the Saints and Buccaneers will either travel to play the Green Bay Packers or host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.
