In today’s society it seems that most people are afraid to express their true feelings on many subjects because of political correctness.
We don’t want to step on toes or hurt feelings because it may cause someone to become depressed or lead them into angry fits because they did not get their way. What has happened to telling the truth and standing up for what is right according to God’s Word?
One reason is that many people don’t believe in God and mock His ways. They don’t care to understand that life was created from a Holy God and form their opinions on man made decisions.
Many churches and religious organizations have watered down the truth of the Bible and have bought into feel good sermons and attitudes that the world has generated. Many political correct pastors and so called spiritual leaders have made a mockery of who God is and are making financial fortunes on people wanting to hear anything but the truth.
According to Webster’s dictionary political correct is defined as: conforming or adhering to what is regarded as orthodox liberal opinion on matters of sexuality, race, etc. usually used disparagingly to connote dogmatism, excessive sensitivity to minority causes. Etc.
Are we as Christians supposed to be politically correct when it comes to the world when we know what the Bible, God’s Word, tells us?
Didn’t Jesus upset a lot of people because He would not fall into the ways of the world?
As Christians, we are not to go out of our way to offend people, but the truth is that Christianity is offensive to many. The cross is a tremendous stumbling block to some because so many believe that they can work their way into heaven. Jesus tells us that eternal life with Him comes only through the grace that He gives. Many find it offensive when Jesus said in Matthew 16:24, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
No one likes being told there is nothing they can do to earn their way into heaven. A lot of people have a hard time getting away from the secular world and try to walk on eggshells to keep from embarrassing or hurting someone’s feelings. They live for the world and conform to its correctness instead of reading what Jesus tells us in His Word. Even those that follow Jesus will deny Him and follow the world because they aren’t prepared to stand up for the truth.
Jesus came to save the world, not to destroy it. Satan is alive, well, and meddling with the minds of people to get you to turn away from the saving grace of Jesus and follow him into the ways of the world.
As a Christian we know that our citizenship is in heaven. It is not our place to be politically correct in a secular realm. As Christians we await Jesus return to take us home with Him.
