Doris Stephney Wilson-Lester, 74, passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2020 at her home in Clarksdale. Doris was born Sept. 13, 1946 to Haywood and Cornelia Adele Stephney.
She grew up in Clarksdale and graduated from Higgins Jr. - Sr. High School. She attended Jackson State University where she pursued a major in music.
Her only child, Ericka, and both husbands, Larry Wilson and Billy Lester preceded her in death.
She is survived by three grandsons, Quirinius Wilson (Ashley), Ali and Jelani Royster, two granddaughters, Nia and Mariah Royster, all of Southaven, and one great granddaughter, Azuri McKinney of Jackson; her mother, Cornelia Stephney, and sisters Carolyn Stephney, Vivian Stephney Johnson and Esther Stephney (Montoria) Hubbard.
Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at Royal Funeral Chapel; the Memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at Royal Funeral Chapel, with Graveside Services immediately following at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery. COVID restraints remain in place.
