Estella Johnson Dorsey, affectionately known as “Stella” and “Coach Dorsey,” was born July 20, 1948 in Clarksdale to the late Sidney and Estella Ray Nelson Johnson. She became the 6th child of the Dandy Dozen, a nickname later given to the Johnson’s 12 beautiful children.
