The annual Clarksdale Community Thanksgiving lunch will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
Lunches will be prepared and delivered from the Care Station on that day.
Organizer Charles Estess said due to the community’s support they have been able to serve many local individuals and families over the years and they hope to continue that in 2018.
“With help from our community, we have been able to serve approximately 1,000 meals each Thanksgiving Day,” Estess said in a news release.
Those who would like to order a meal delivery or know someone who needs a Thanksgiving meal are asked to call the Clarksdale Chamber of Commerce at 662-627-7337 no later than noon Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Those who would like to volunteer to work Thanksgiving Day at the Care Station are also asked to call the chamber.
Those who would like to volunteer to deliver meals on Thanksgiving morning are asked to contact Rod Spinks at 662-902-7260.
Those wanting to prepare cakes for Thanksgiving Day are asked to deliver them to the Care Station no later than noon Wednesday, Nov. 21.
And those who would like to make a financial contribution toward the Thanksgiving meal can make the check out to Community Thanksgiving Lunch and drop it off at either the Care Station or the Planters Bank office in Clarksdale.
