Evelyn Simpson Hubbard, 83, of Duncan, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at her home.
Evelyn was born December 18, 1935 in Athens, Alabama to John and Bertha Mae Pitts Simpson. She was employed as the Office Manager and Insurance Specialist for Dr. Burke in Clarksdale for many years. Evelyn loved and adored her entire family including all her nieces and nephews. She had an infectious personality and was the life of the party. Evelyn was a wonderful mother and the perfect example of what a woman should be. Her focus in life for the last 14 years, was her only granddaughter, Anna. Evelyn was a member of Clarksdale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, John D. Hubbard; daughter, Jane Hubbard Harbin; five sisters, Oma Dell Lawson, Frances Gardner, Betty McCool, Clara Mae Albright, and Faye Utz; and five brothers, Johnny Simpson, David Simpson, Dean Simpson, Howard Simpson, and Bobby Simpson.
Evelyn is survived by her son, John D. Hubbard, Jr. and his wife Alicia of Greenville; two daughters, Jeanette Hubbard Quay and her husband John of Ouray, Colorado, and Julie Hubbard Nall and her husband Wes of Olive Branch; sister, Corean Gardner of Cary; one granddaughter, Anna Nall of Olive Branch; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 fat Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Gary Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
