Ida Naomi Rogers Clark, 89, of Clarksdale, passed away on May 31, 2019, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Visitation will be held at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 828 W. 2nd Street, Clarksdale, MS, 38614 on June 3, 2019, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Naomi Rodgers Clark was born on March 21, 1930, to Thomas Luther Rogers and Ethel Yates Rogers. She grew up in the Friendship Community near Sumner, and graduated from Sumner High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and retired from banking as an audit clerk for Regions Bank.
Her survivors include her son Gary “Chuck” Clark and his wife Linda McClure Clark of Clarksdale, her granddaughter Julie Clark Byrd of Maurepas, La., and two great grandchildren, her daughter Carla J. Clark of Brandon, her sister Joy Rogers Springer of Brandon, and her sister Ruth Rogers Ferguson of Ridgeland. She also leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She is preceded in death by her baby daughter Caryn Gleniece Clark, her parents Thomas Luther Rogers and Ethel Yates Rogers, both of Webb, her sisters Katherine Rogers Monaghan of Clarksdale, and Eunice Rodgers Clark of Tutwiler, and her brother Dr. Tommie Gene Rogers of Wilmington, Del.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
