Leon Thomas Corso, 96, of Clarksdale and a retired owner/operator of Corso Liquor Store and worked with his father at Corso Distributing, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at home. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
He attended Texas A&M before serving in World War II in the Army Signal Corp. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of seventy-seven years, Joyce Mays Corso; son Barry Corso (Jennifer); daughter Cathy Corso Foster all of Clarksdale, MS; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mable Judah Corso and daughter Gloria Ann Legg.
