Robert Douglas Hensley, 48, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Clarksdale from congestive heart failure. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 and the service was at 2 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church. Burial was be at Oakridge Cemetery.
Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Robert was born in Helena, Ark., on January 21, 1971, to Vergie and Don Hensley. He moved to Clarksdale later where he made his home. He later moved to Memphis for several years and Nashville, Tenn,, later in life. In 2012 he moved back to Clarksdale where he remained until his death. He worked for Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home and Woods Security.
He is survived by his mother Virgie Thompson of Wynne, Ark., and his stepfather Larry Thompson. His father, Don and stepmother, Arlene Hensley of Clarksdale. he had one brother, Donnie Hensley (Allison) of Hernando, two stepsisters, Stacey Vanlandingham (Robert Lee) and Becky Jones (Charles) and stepbrother Randy Gibson (Melanie) all of Clarksdale. Robert (Rob) was known to all his friends for his jolly personality. He will be missed by many.
