The CARES Animal Shelter will be hosting a grand opening, ribbon cutting and fundraiser this Thursday and Friday with the an art show called “Art For Animals.”
The charity art show will feature works done by Matthew Hasty, Ellen Langford, Hayden Hall, Gerald Deloach, Glennray Tutor, Peyton Trimm, Maude Schuyler Clay, Stan Street, Nancy Waggoner, Joey Young and John Ruskey.
There will be a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Thursday with the Clarksdale/Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce followed by a wine and cheese preview party from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the wine and cheese party are $50 and proceeds go directly to the non-profit shelter.

On Friday, there will be an open house from noon to 4 p.m. with behind the scenes shelter tours. The event is free to the public and artwork will still be on display.
