The Clarksdale Police Department hosted a physical agility test for prospective police officers on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Crumpton Field in Clarksdale.
The physical agility test is part of a requirement of the Clarksdale Police Department’s hiring process. All persons applying to be police officers are required to pass the physical agility test and should score no less than 70 percent. The standards for the number of required pushups and the required time for a mile and a half run depend upon the applicant’s age.
Pictured above, Willexia Hudson completes the pushups requirement while, from left, Stephanie Leflore, Cpl. Victor Randall, Larvell Hemphill, Isiah Pointer and Hunter Stafford look on.
Hunter Stafford and Stephanie Leflore were among the five people offered employment during Monday’s meeting of Clarksdale mayor and board of commissioners. The addition of five officers will give the department 38 officers.
