A group of citizens and church members will gather Saturday for a Community Cleanup in Clarksdale.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and run through noon. Work will start at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Anderson Boulevard and continue from there.
“We’re going to work as far as we get,” said Todd Bailey, the youth minister at Clarksdale Baptist Church and the organizer for Saturday’s event.
He said members of four to five Clarksdale churches will come together to conduct the cleanup and the general public is also invited. The Clarksdale Beautification Committee is also a part of the effort.
Bailey said participants should bring such items as rakes, gloves, hedge clippers and weed eaters.
