The Coahoma Early College High School boys dropped their district opener at Holly Springs Tuesday night 75-71 to drop to 8-3 on the season.
Thomas Williams Jr. led the way with 22 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double, Trey Payno scored 17 points, Willie Eagins scored seven points, Hertavious Williams scored 11 points, and Trevion Jackson scored four points.
The Tigers also won 58-39 at Northside High School on Dec. 4.
Eagins had 17 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists; Williams Jr. had a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three assists; Payno had seven points and five assists; Hertavious Williams had six points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals; Rashard McCray had eight points and three rebounds; Detavion Coley had three points and four rebounds; and Nicarious Johnson had two points.
In a 62-48 home loss to Horn Lake on Dec. 1, Payno had 12 points, while Eagins and Jackson had 11 points each, Williams Jr. had six points and 11 rebounds, Adrian Flowers had five points and Jacque Hopson had two points.
The Lady Tigers opened their district play coming from 10 points behind in the fourth quarter to defeat Holly Springs 35-33 on the road Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers improved to 6-5 with the victory.
The Lady Tigers also won at Northside High School 48-35 on Dec. 4.
Nekya Pittman had two points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and five steals for the Lady Tigers; Mykeria Jones had six rebounds and four assists; Za'Rihha Green had eight points, five rebounds and four steals; Aalyiah Davis had 16 points and three assists; Serenity Burrell had eight points and 11 rebounds; and Tykera Rucker had five points.
In a 60-46 home loss to Horn Lake on Dec. 1, Davis had 16 points, Zykha Blanch finished with eight, Burrell had five, Cebesha Brunt and Pittman had four each; and Green had two.
In a 49-46 loss at Rosa Fort on Nov. 30, Green had 13 points, Burrell had nine, Brunt had seven, Blanch had six, Davis had five, Pittman had four, and Austin had two.
CECHS hosts Indepdence in a district game on Friday and Simmons Dec. 21. Tipoff for the girls is 6 p.m. in both games with the boys following.
