Coahoma County High School won two more basketball games to remain in first place in their district.
The most recent victories were at home against division opponent O’Bannon on Tuesday night.
The Red Panthers won 60-29, while the Lady Red Panthers won 53-7.
In the Red Panthers victory, Markevius Phillips led the way with 16 points, Alshun Ross had 14, and Bentavious Galmore had 13. The win put them at 23-2 on the season and they are undefeated in district play.
In the Lady Red Panthers victory, Taakius Fonzy and Eukemia Blanch led with 10 points each.
The Red Panthers also won at Clarksdale High School last Thursday, 52-43.
Again, Phillips had 16 points and Galmore had 11.
The Lady Red Panthers won at Clarksdale last Thursday, 59-24.
Fonzy and Calysia Phillips had 15 points, while Nakia Cheatham and Shakira Artis scored 10 points apiece.
CCHS closes the regular season in a division matchup at Riverside on Friday. The girls tip off at 6 p.m. with the boys following.
The district tournament will follow.
The Red Panthers are coming off of back-to-back state championships, while the Lady Red Panthers appeared in the 2A state semifinals last season.
