The Coahoma Early College High School boys basketball team improved its record to 6-1 by winning two out of three games during recent holiday tournaments.
The Tigers lost to Coahoma County 54-53 in the championship game of the Red Panthers Thanksgiving tournament.
Thomas Williams Jr. led CECHS with a double-double scoring 14 points and collecting 14 rebounds.
Rashard McCray and Willie Eagins finished with 10 points each.
The Tigers defeated Leflore County 78-41 in the first game of the tournament.
Trey Payno had 23 points for the Tigers, Hertavious Williams followed with 16 and Williams Jr. had 11. Williams Jr. finished with 12 rebounds for a double-double.
Williams Jr. had 11 rebounds in a 63-49 win against Clarksdale in Clarksdale’s tournament.
The Lady Tigers, currently 4-3, lost to Coahoma County 46-20 and beat Leflore County 47-27 in the Coahoma County tournament.
The Lady Tigers lost to Clarksdale 63-33 in Clarksdale’s tournament.
Coahoma Early College is at Tunica Rosa Fort on Friday and hosts Horn Lake on Saturday.
The girls start at 6 p.m. both nights with the boys following.
