CLARKSDALE- Recently, the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) announced its 2018 All-State Teams. The Coahoma Community College Baseball team was honored to have three of its standout players to be recognized.
Three CCC players made the 1st All-State team: Wyatt Bailey, Eduardo Munoz, and Zac Gilder made the 2nd All-State Team.
Bailey and Munoz led the Tiger pitching staff to a successful season. Bailey had a 4-6 record with a 4.39 ERA, one save, and 60 strikeouts. Munoz had a 2-3 record with a 3.07 ERA, three saves, and 66 strikeouts respectively.
Gilder was the heart and soul of the Tiger's 2018 defense. He had a 326 batting average with two home runs, 46 hits, and 32 RBIs.
Collectively, the players are part of the winningest sophomore class in CCC history. They have combined for 43 wins in two years.
Bailey is from Hernando and had 60 stikeouts over 65.2 innings walking only 15.
Munzo is from Panama City, Panama. He pitched 73.1 innings and gave up only 74 hits, while striking out 66. He had a 3.19 ERA.
Gilder played high school ball at Center Hill High School in Olive Branch. He got 46 hits with 135 at bats. He also slugged 14 doubles and notched 33 RBIs
