On many different occasions, I have said it is a good thing we do not have a power rating system to determine the playoff teams in Mississippi. Only division matchups count toward the playoff standings.

Lee soccer tops Columbus Christian, 2-0

Two second-half Liz Basha goals gave Lee Academy a 2-0 victory to open the soccer season at home against Columbus Christian Monday afternoon.

Basha, a senior attacking midfielder, scored the first goal on a penalty kick and the second on a breakaway town the end of the game.

Public Schools delayed two weeks

CECHS tells start of school plans, policy

The plan is Coahoma Early College High School students to attend school in person twice a week and have online learning every Monday for the 2020-21 school year.

CECHS principal Cloretha Jamison outlined the hybrid model she will use in response to the coronavirus pandemic during the Coahoma Community College and CECHS board meeting Monday morning.
