The Quitman County Sheriff’s department has arrested a Coahoma County woman in connection with the disappearance and suspected murder of two people almost two years ago.
Haley Lee Pierce, 21, of Alligator, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection to the disappearance of Will Polk and April Jones of Crowder.
“We have been working on this case since it occurred and recently some things came up that led to filing charges yesterday,” said Quitman County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Peter Clinton. “We have not found the bodies but we are checking locations people are telling us they might be.
“A lot of things have come together and more arrests are expected,” said Clinton, “I do want to thank the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department, Clarksdale Police Department and MBI (Mississippi Bureau of Investigation) with helping us with this case.”
No motive was given for the alleged murders.
Polk and Jones disappeared in October 2019 and family members said it is not like either of them to just leave home and children behind.
Family and friends have led extensive searches and have repeatedly turned evidence and information over to authorities.
Clinton urged anyone with information about this case to call 662-326-3131. He said all calls are anonymous.
