Mississippi recorded one of its worst Thanksgiving holiday highway safety enforcement periods this year, with 10 fatalies reported on state highways and roads.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol concluded its 2019 Thanksgiving holiday enforcement period began Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 12:01 a.m. and ended Sunday, Dec 1 at midnight.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol concluded its 2019 Labor Day enforcement period which began Friday, August 30, at 12:01 a.m. and ended Monday, September 2 at midnight.
There were three reported fatalities in the state over the Labor Day weekend with one of those occurring Monday in Quitman County.
