Gladys 'Gert' Earl Garmon

Gladys “Gert” Earl Garmon, 89, a retired teacher and resident of Pelahatchie, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Gert was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution.  She was also a member of Pelahatchie Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Young at Heart group. 

Gert is survived by her son, John H. Garmon III of Pearl; daughters, Gay Garmon of Meridian and Molly Robertson (Allen) of Pelahatchie; grandchildren, Rob Robertson, Jamie Meadows (Greg), Daniel Brantley, Benjamin Brantley (Leah) and Molly Brantley; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Garmon, Jr.; parents, Houston and Gladys East McGaughy; and a sister, Frances Young.

Visitation is Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery.
