Joyce Holloway Simpson

Joyce Holloway Simpson, 86, a Clarksdale resident and music teacher since 1958, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Oxford Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Simpson accompanied her husband for 65 years in his ministry of music. She also was a member of the Wind Assemble and member and organist at Riverside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Ray Simpson; two sons, Chuck Simpson and Steve Simpson (Belinda), all of Clarksdale; seven grandchildren, Mark (Amanda) Simpson, Matt (Jessica) Simpson, WIll (Allison) Simpson, Lori (Josh) Beasley, John (Jenna) Simpson, Austin Simpson and Anna Glaydon; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Simpson; and parents, George William Holloway and Ann Lamberth Holloway.

Visitation will be held this Saturday, March 23, 2019, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Oakridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Riverside Baptist Church.
