Patsy James Walton

Patsy James Walton, 66, of Lyon, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville.

Patsy was born in Bruce on Jan. 1, 1952, to Clinton and Mary Agnes James.  She grew up in Clarksdale and graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1969.

She married Kenny Walton on Aug. 21, 1977. They were married for 41 years and they had two wonderful sons, Clint and Brandon. Patsy and Kenny enjoyed their early years spending summers in the sun on the lake with their family and closest friends. 

Patsy had a passion for all animals, from her horses to her many beloved pets. 

Patsy valued time with her sisters on vacations in Hot Springs, Ark., and their many Sunday afternoon coffees.  Patsy loved family more than anything.  She was dedicated to making her husband, children and grandchildren happy.

In her last years, after her retirement from First South Production Credit, Patsy could be seen most days driving her golf cart in their neighborhood with her grandchildren by her side. 

Patsy's witty personality and kind spirit left an imprint on the heart of everyone who knew her.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Kenny, of Lyon; sons, Clint (Megan) Walton of Merigold and Brandon (Jennifer) Walton of Lyon; brothers, Steve (Susie) James of Clarksdale and Michael (Della) James of Clarksdale; sisters, Susan (Philip) Sherman of Clarksdale and Jeanie (David) Borgognoni of Lyon; and grandchildren, Mary Fowler Walton, Bennett Walton and Camille Walton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton James and Mary Agnes Tyner James.

Patsy was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. 

Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, with a funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m. The graveside service will be held at Oakridge Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis.

Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
