Sadie Foster Hite

Sadie Foster Hite, 83, passed away at Oxford Health and Rehab on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.

She was born in Lyon and lived in Coahoma County most of her life.

Sadie loved Ole Miss football, seeing her grandchildren and singing in the choir at Oakhurst Baptist Church. She is warmly remembered by students at Clarksdale Baptist School, where she was cafeteria manager for many years, and by the people who came to have their prescriptions filled at Economy Drugs, where she worked as a pharmacy tech for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Charlie Hite of Earle, Ark.

She is survived by her two children, Malendia Hite Thornton of Clarksdale and Stacy Lynn Hite of Charlottesville, Va.; her sons-in-law, Keith Thornton of Clarksdale and Bob Yarbrough, of Charlottesville; and three grandchildren, Alan Thornton, Rachel Thornton and Samantha Yarbrough.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale with the funeral service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
