William Edward “Billy” Pegram, 85, of Dundee, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, surrounded by his family.
During his long and full life, he was a farmer, businessman, politician and avid outdoorsman. He served as a supervisor of Tunica County for five terms and was a member of the Tunica United Methodist Church.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Gayla Koonce Pegram; his daughters, Lynn Ryals (Ricky) and Jean Townsend; his grandchildren, Wes Ryals (Victoria), Katie Ryals Cofer (John), Holly Townsend McElyea (Paul), Neil Townsend (Katie) and Will Townsend (Casey); and five great-grandchildren who especially brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bill, and daughter, Debbie.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Tunica. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Tunica United Methodist Church with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials or gifts be made to the Tunica United Methodist Church or the Tunica Humane Society.
