Robert Blake Ashmore was convicted this morning of first-degree murder of Mason Howard, 19, with a 12-gauge shotgun on April 9, 2016 and sentenced to life in prison under the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
The verdict came in a jury trial in second circuit judge Al Smith’s courtroom.

Joani Karololine Howell, 39, received her angel wings on Friday, May 4, 2018, at her home in Memphis, Tenn.
Joani was welcomed on this earth by her parents, Joey and Lawanda Howell of Sardis, on Oct. 28, 1979.
She was a native of Batesville and attended South Panola High School.
