Clarksdale really has a lot of good things going on downtown and that was evident in the first festival of the year this past weekend.

I’ve never been a movie buff or video buff in the current lingo, but we are a visual, video culture. It was great to see downtown Clarksdale full of tourist again Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A viewing will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale.

Spring Initiative students spending Spring Break in Nashville

Big Spring, which is a group of seventh- through 10th-graders in the local Spring Initiative program, are spending Wednesday and Thursday in Nashville as part of their spring break in an effort to expand their horizons.

All 14 children will be participating in the High Ropes obstacle course, which is a team-building exercise.
