The City of Clarksdale honored the late Judge William Willard with a proclamation recently. The proclamation was signed and presented to Williard’s family by Clarksdale City Commissioners with Jon Levingston bringing the request before the board for the community.

It appears the Sunflower River peaked at nearly 22 and a half feet in downtown Clarksdale at about 9 p.m. Sunday before starting a slow withdrawal.

Robert Blake Ashmore was convicted this morning of first-degree murder of Mason Howard, 19, with a 12-gauge shotgun on April 9, 2016 and sentenced to life in prison under the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
