ITTA BENA — Quick starts enabled the Coahoma County High School boys and girls to earn double-digit victories in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A state tournament against New Site at Mississippi Valley State University Thursday.

Andrew D. Redd, 73, born May 23, 1946 died at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis Jan. 27, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his parents, the late William Redd Sr. and Travis Lee Smith Redd.

Robert Blake Ashmore was convicted this morning of first-degree murder of Mason Howard, 19, with a 12-gauge shotgun on April 9, 2016 and sentenced to life in prison under the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
