Dorothy Mae Stevenson, 83, of Clarksdale died Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her home.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.
JONESTOWN—Gov. Tate Reeves has lifted restrictions allowing more businesses to open throughout the state of Mississippi, but with the amount of coronavirus cases in Jonestown, the town will still close at 8 p.m. daily.
Mayor Kenny Lester made the announcement during the city council meeting Monday.

Lifelong Clarksdale resident, Richard Winston “Wimpy” Gilbert, 89, passed away on May 20, 2020, at N.W.R.M.C. He graduated from Clarksdale High School, Delta State College and the School of Banking at LSU. He was retired from United Southern Bank as a Senior Vice-President.

Mayor Chuck Espy and Board of Supervisors President Johnny Newson have ordered a city-wide shutdown in the wake of the coronavirus being reported in Coahoma County.
In a sweeping move, Espy said there will be no gatherings of more than 10 people in the city, his statement was echoed by Newson for the county.
FedEx Corp. is supporting free admission to the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 20. The museums will also be open free of charge Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19.
Jonestown remains without a city attorney as the mayor and several council members are split on the three candidates for the position.
Mayor Kenny Lester attempted to hire a new city attorney during a special meeting held Wednesday, Feb. 13, but the position remains vacant.
